Our Mission

Alcoa Elementary School strives to maintain a community atmosphere celebrating diversity with parents, students, and faculty. AES supports an ever growing population of over 550+ students in grades pre-k through the 2nd grade. Led by principal, Dr. Jarrod Pendergraft and assistant principal, Dr. Sara Williams, the 80+ members of the faculty and staff work together closely as a unit. Presently the school is made up of eight pods which house four classrooms in each pod. The center of the building houses a large library filled with many books and other materials. Close by is a 'theater in the round' which holds many programs and special events. The students of Alcoa Elementary enjoy Art, Gym, Library, Music, Guidance and Technology on a 8-day rotation. AES is a 1-1 technology school. Every student has a Chromebook. Kindergarten and first grade students use a touch screen Chromebook while second graders transition to a Chromebook without a touch screen. All students rotate through a technology class to learn keyboarding and tech skills. Throughout the school year, Alcoa hosts several activities which bring friends and family to our school setting. A few of these are Lunch with a Loved One, a Fall Carnival, Night of the Arts, and book fairs. AES also has an after school program called STARS that works with parents for their individual childcare needs. Alcoa has a strong partnership with the community. The Alcoa school system celebrated their 100 year anniversary in 2020.
