My name is Lisa Williamson and I am the School Counselor at Alcoa Elementary School. My job is to help all of our students succeed both academically and interpersonally. To do this, I will often work with students Individually. Individual counseling is designed to help the student (1) learn effective communication skills, (2) learn valuable coping skills , (3) recognize how feelings and behaviors are related to academic performance.
Individual Counseling encourages students to be role models for others and to set a standard of excellence in the classroom. Counseling can also help students in their academic performance/school work and in their everyday living.
I provide our students with a safe environment where they can practice their social skills, explore their ideas, feelings, and attitudes. Individual counseling does not replace outside counseling/therapy services. If you feel your child would benefit from long-term therapy, I can assist you in obtaining outside services as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (865) 982-3120 ext. 2113
