Welcome to my classroom. My name is Lisa Wigdor and I am the blended/special education preschool teacher at Alcoa Elementary School.
I have been married to my husband Jon for almost 32 years and I have 3 children; Michael, 28, Andrew 27 and Laura 22. This is my 9th year at Alcoa and I love my students and colleagues! My favorite part of teaching is when my students learn to communicate and interact with teachers and peers! I am so thankful to be able to teach an inclusive preschool classroom where student differences are valued and all students are supported in a way that unlocks their full potential in academic, social, communication and prevocational skills. My students amaze me everyday by how quickly they learn new concepts, gain friendships and love and accept each other.

- Bio My name is Lisa Wigdor and I am the blended/special education preschool teacher at Alcoa Elementary School. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood and K-12 Special Education and an EDS in Educational Leadership. I provided speech-language therapy to students prior to working as a special education preschool teacher and a preschool language group teacher in Knox County Schools. While with Knox County Schools. I had the opportunity to provide training to teachers in teaching language and communication skills to young children through the Hanen program I have been married to my husband Jon for almost 30 years and I have 3 children; Michael, 27, Andrew 25 and Laura 20. I have been teaching at Alcoa for 7 years and I love my students and colleagues! My favorite part of teaching is when my students learn to communicate and interact with teachers and peers!
