Meet Nurse Ashley
Hi! I am Nurse Ashley and this is my first year at AES! I am from Madisonville, Tennessee but have been in Knoxville the past 6 years. I am married to a sweet guy named Andy and I am the mom of an adorably cute son named Parker. The two titles that I am most proud of and most passionate about are Mom and Nurse Ashley and I hope that shows in my life and work. I have been a pediatric nurse for my entire 6 year nursing career at East Tennessee Children's Hospital and Knoxville Pediatric Associates (Crosspark office). I love working with kids and watching their resiliency, bright smiles, and their love for life. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Wesleyan University. My most favorite things to do are to read and play ball with Parker, watch Saints football with Andy, bake, and spend time with family and friends. My favorite color is pink, I love ice cream, and Chic-Fil-A is my favorite lunch! I am so excited to be here at Alcoa and I am so thankful for the privilege to be a part of this awesome team and to take care of your kids!
What Every Parent Needs to Know (Posted December 2, 2019)
As you know cold and flu season is upon us and kids are great at sharing toys and germs! As always if you haven't gotten a flu shot I cannot recommend that enough!! If your child has a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea we ask that you keep them home to help keep the sharing of germs to a minimum. And we ask that a child be fever free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. Encourage your kids to wash their hands and cover their coughs and sneezes. There are many different resources out there about keeping your kids safe and healthy and I highly recommend that you check with your pediatrician for more helpful tips! And East TN Children's Hospital website/social media is a great and reliable resource for health articles. Below is a link to some flu facts published by ETCH that provide a quick guide to the flu and prevention. Thanks for your help in keeping our kids safe, happy, and healthy!
