AES Music ROCKS! Welcome to AES Music!  What's it all about?

I love all music! Seriously! Whether it's rock, rap, country, or even Italian opera, I believe all types of music have value. No matter what this year looks like, we are TORNADOES and we are gonna have a blast. Come with an open mind and be ready to sing, play, dance, and maybe even discover something new.  I can't wait to share music with you this year!

About Mr. Adler

I have been teaching in Alcoa City Schools since 2004.  I was the band director for Alcoa High School and Middle School from 2004-2016.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, in 2004, from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  In 2012, I received my Master’s in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.  I also received an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University in 2021.

In 2013, I was blessed to be a national finalist and award winner for the Hilton HHonors Teacher Trek Award. This award was given for educators who seek opportunities and challenges outside the classroom on the international level.  In 2019, I was selected as Music Teacher of Excellence by the CMA Foundation. I'm a member of the National Music Education Association (NAfME), Tennessee Music Education Association (TNMEA), and is also an active member and current President of the East Tennessee General Music Education Association (ETGMEA).

I also serve as a mentor for the CMAF Mentor M.E. program designed to help beginning music educators find success in the classroom and improve retention rates within the music education field.

I live in Alcoa, TN, with my wife, Emily, and our sons, Lucas and Samuel. I love spending time with my family, food, coffee, being active, discovering new music, and traveling.  Below are some of my favorite places in the world I have visited.

WE WILL

As a music teacher, I believe in the power of music to heal, inspire, and support students. They need us to use our voices and fight for them. Share this video and spread the word about #UnifiedVoicesforME. Together, we will make a difference for our students through music.
