Hi! My name is Mandy Hitson, a Kindergarten teacher at AES. My students are the Hortons, after the Dr. Seuss character from Horton Hears A Who :) This is my 19th year in education and my 15th year teaching Kindergarten. My “door” is always open so feel free to ask for clarification on anything at anytime. I enjoy pointing out to students when I can “see” that they’re thinking, working, learning, trying... when they may not even realize it! I challenge my students to work harder than they have before.
About Me
- I graduated from Roane County High School in Kingston, Tennessee.
- 1 received my BS in dietetics from ETSU, MS in Human Ecology from UT, & EDS in Curriculum and Instruction from LMU.
- I taught Family & Consumer Science for 3.5 years at AHS before coming to AES
My Family
- My husband Robin & I have been married 24 years.
- We have a 22-year-old daughter and son-in-law that live in Hendersonville,TN.
- I am the youngest child in my family with one older brother.
